China is hunting for Earth 2.0 Planet with Space Telescope – China’s Big Plans

China is going to launch a space telescope, which will be on a mission to find a planet that is similar to Earth and the name of this mission of China is Earth 2.0 Planet. if they get the approval for the mission, this mission is going to be launched in 2026. To know more about the telescope and the plans by China, read the full article given below.

Next Blue Planet Mission

China will soon start the beginning of its first space-based hunt for other planets if they soon get the proposal by Shanghai Astronomical Observation to get the mission started by this summer.

This Space Telescope would spend around four years orbiting sun-earth Lagrange point 2, which will be around 930000 miles from Earth. China will fix seven space telescopes on the portion of the sky that will be pointing towards the galactic center and wait and observe for the signs of dimming as planets transmit, or the pass from the front, or observation of star movement.

The main of the mission will be to find a similar planet to earth having similar orbits around the sun-like star. They require highly sensitive controls to spot the signals of small planet transits, and also the long-term monitoring to capture the glimpse of planets that take an Earth year to travel to stars.

The Earth telescope might not able to confirm an Earth twin on its own rather it would be measuring the size of the planets and the orbital periods to identify candidates for follow-up the observation for habitability.

Ge, the head of the CAO said that these planets can be followed with a ground-based telescope that will obtain the radial velocity measurements that will determine their masses and density. Some of the planets that will show the sign of bright stars can be further followed up with space-based spectroscopy or ground-based spectroscopy to find out the transmission spectra of the planets to study their atmosphere.

Plan about the Earth 2.0 Planet

The mission Earth 2.0 Planet will follow the observation of the area of Space that the NASA Kepler telescope studied for nine years, but the Earth 2.0 will have a much higher field of view, which means it would be able to observe a large area with more stars.

The Earth 2.0 Space Telescope is planned to cover 500 square degrees and monitoring of the 1.2 million dwarf stars for the four to seven 11.8 inch aperture telescope. For example, the apparent area of the moon in the sky is about 0.5 square degrees, being the whole sky is around 41000 square degrees.

They will plan to find more solar-type planets `to find out a second home. If the Earth 2.0 Planet occurrence rate is 10% then the need to search the roughly 2000 relatively bright stars that might be Earth 2.0 Planet.

The survey study shows that there can be expected about 30000 new planets that will include around 5000 terrestrial planets. The telescope will have the best design to send better signals to find the noise ratio detectors that would also boost the capabilities.

There would be seven telescopes that would have the sensitivity to detect the cold and free-floating rocky planets that would be known as rogue planets, their size would be smaller than Mars. It would be able to support cold planets that orbit stars at distances comparable to those as Mars and Neptune orbit the sun.

Space Telescope plan

The seven telescopes will have a sensitivity that will detect the surveys of other planets that would be made better than the telescopes before. It will continue the Kepler study and extended the planet research for the cooler planets. This planet exploration will properly mine the data to seek out the trends and patterns that would tell how the planets are formed, including the study of the rocky world in a similar orbit to the Earth.

The mission will be providing a lot of plenty data for the international planet-hunting communities to study the planets candidates and follow their movement and also keep the surveys open such as masses, atmospheric conditions, and densities.

This is the first step by China to find out the similar planets that might be habitual as earth

They will even find the Planets that are like Venus or Mars that have the same environmental surface like them or something that would be even more fun the aliens.

They will mainly also study the space atmosphere and the moon like planets that might give us the second hope.

Future of the Earth 2.0 Planet Mission

The Earth 2.0 proposal is send and a part of the Chinese Academy of Science program. The other mission are competing for the fund in areas such as astronomy and space science, solar physics, and the Earth observation.

Decision of the funding on the mission will be done in June. If this mission gets the approval, it will be launching around 2026. Other missions which are sent for the approval are the star missions that would be finding different stars around our universe.

Conclusion

China I making big steps on the development such as lunar exploration, space flight and remote sensing space activities.

These upcoming missions look quite interesting and the main mission that is coming up is the Space station mission.

I hope they get the approval soon for the telescope mission and this mission finds a second home for us, as this one is now overpopulated.
